Doria Apartment Homes Phase 2 Grand Opening Draws Crowds
The $18.3M Doria Apartment community is the first rental property developed by Jamboree Housing Corporation in association with the Irvine Community Land Trust (ICLT). The ICLT is creating approximately 5,000 affordable housing units within 15 years and Jamboree Housing has pledged to reserve 10 percent of its homes for special needs people, with funding provided by the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) and administered by the County of Orange. Doria Apartment Homes are designed for workforce families who earn 30 – 60% of the area’s median income.
Fuscoe provided services for Phase 2, which feature 74 more apartments in five two-and three-story garden-style buildings configured around a central courtyard. Doria’s tenants will enjoy in-home Energy Star appliances and amenities that include a community garden, 3K s.f. community center, swimming pool and tot lot. The property exceeds Title 24 energy-efficiency standards by approximately 15 percent. This eco-friendly orientation extends to a community garden where residents can grow food and flowers. The Fuscoe team’s services included civil engineering tasks, survey staking, an ALTA and supplemental surveys as well as a SWPPP and WQMP. A LEED Gold rating is anticipated for this project.
