Kick-off of Irvine’s 5TH High School is greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of more than 200 people
Irvine Unified School District students living within the newly created Great Park Neighborhoods will attend Portola High School, set to open Fall 2016. The high school will be constructed adjacent to the Orange County Great Park, on land transferred by Heritage Fields and managed by development partner FivePoint Communities.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Irvine Unified School District officials, local dignitaries and members of the public, and took place on what will be home base on the high school’s future baseball diamond. The new state-of-the-art high school facility will accommodate 2,400 students and encompass 280,000 s.f. of classroom space. Exceptional school amenities will include a performing arts building with 720-seat theater; 2,044-seat gymnasium with training facilities; video production/art/music elective building; eight tennis courts; track, soccer and baseball fields; student union with library; science labs; and special education facility. The Fuscoe team is providing comprehensive survey construction staking services for Portola High School as well as its surrounding infrastructure.
