Fuscoe Engineering welcomed Lake Forest Girl Scout Troop #2750 to the Irvine office on Friday, May 1st

As part of their “Journey: It’s Your World – Change It!” Program, the fourth grade Girl Scouts and their Troop Leader, Elaina Laubach, were given a Grand Tour of the office by Troop Co-Leader Jennifer Palmer, who explained the functions of each department. After the tour, the girls listened to Project Managers Oriana Slasor and Winnie Tham describe their careers in civil engineering, followed by a discussion led by Stephanie Castle and Lynn Kubasek on work within the stormwater/environmental fields. The discussions were lively and interactive and focused on encouraging the Scouts to consider degrees and jobs within the engineering and scientific arenas. The Scouts learned that women are making great headway in disciplines traditionally limited to men, and that today almost 50% of students obtaining degrees in science are now female.

Kudos to our Fuscoe Ladies for inspiring these young girls to become professional businesswomen who will one day shape our world.
