The Courtyard Anaheim Waterpark Hotel is now open!

What is almost as exciting as Disneyland? A hotel with an awesome waterpark – just a short walk from Disneyland! Families are flocking to the newly opened six-story, 221-room Marriott Courtyard Anaheim Waterpark Hotel for its family-friendly amenities. Architects Lee & Sakahara diverged from the typical hotel prototype design to include Santa Barbara-style architecture and enlarged 500+ sf family suites with double showers and bunkbeds for kids. The 229,000 sf hotel includes a 48,000 sf second floor observation deck waterpark, equipped with six exciting water slides, 400-gallon drench bucket, water cannons, children’s pool, swimming pool, hot tub and fitness center. The Hotel, built by RD Olson Construction for the Northwest Hotel Corporation, also offers multiple dining options that include The Bistro, Starbucks Coffee and The Terrace Sidewalk Café. A boutique gift shop, business library and media pods are also available for guests.

The project’s engineering challenges included an infiltration trench within a utility laden public parkway, requiring extensive coordination between Anaheim Utilities, the Resort District and Anaheim Public Works to meet their strict BMP requirements. Also, there are two additional infiltration trenches at the project’s perimeter which allow stormwater to percolate into the aquifer. Street widening, straightening and median reconstruction on Manchester Avenue were also required for this project.
