Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as technical specialist or consultant to the civil engineering specialty for a given land/site development, water resources or survey related project or program function.
  • Provide technical direction over a group of civil engineers and/or function as a technical specialist, formulating and developing advanced civil engineering concepts.
  • Provide training and mentoring with new core skills, developing and incorporating training materials and standard processes for improvement of the design process.
  • Manages subordinate staff, to include coaching, mentoring, conducting staff reviews and other supervisory related tasks as needed.

Education, Experience & Knowledge

Any combination of a bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering or equivalent discipline from a four-year college or university and civil engineering design experience totaling six years; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum three years of experience as the central design figure for a team as well as experience mentoring and overseeing technical aspects of projects is required. EIT certification required. PE license or ability to obtain PE license within two years of hire/promotion is required.
