Courtyard by Marriott
Originally slated to open as the independent Camino Real Hotel, this 3-acre property was instead launched as a Courtyard by Marriott Hotel. The 68K s.f. Mediterranean-style inn features 91 rooms and 15 suites with 1,300 s.f. of meeting space. Hotel amenities include The Bistro Restaurant, bar/lounge, fitness room, large outdoor pool, putting green and whirlpool. Ideally situated at the intersection of Storke and Phelps, the $28M Courtyard by Marriott Hotel is only one mile from the Pacific Ocean, UC Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara Airport and Camino Real Marketplace.
Secondary storm water runoff overflow from the courtyard of this compact site was resolved with a simple, yet innovative solution involving standard practices with minor modifications, accomplished with little or no extra cost to the project. Improved water quality was achieved using a portion of the public right-of-way as a treatment train component. This creative solution was accomplished with the full cooperation of the City of Goleta, due in part to its long-standing working relationship with Fuscoe, which dates to pre-cityhood days. The Fuscoe team provided survey and mapping as well as preliminary and final engineering services for the project.
