Project Description

Moreno Valley City Conference & Recreation Center

The Moreno Valley City Community and Sports Center / Gymnasium project required the design and preparation of plans for a 29,000 s.f. gymnasium housing departmental offices, an indoor gymnasium, locker rooms, restrooms, storage and fitness rooms, janitorial and electrical rooms, computer / telecommunication room, classrooms, parking areas and entry plaza.

The Fuscoe survey team provided boundary and topographic surveys, and design staff members performed a variety of engineering tasks for this project, which is located on a 10-acre site between two existing streets, a vacant lot and the Moreno Valley City Hall. Fuscoe provided research, topographic base maps, a design development plan, site work construction documents and construction phase services. The Community Center project presented several engineering challenges. The project location was too flat, causing drainage issues which were resolved with a series of area drains that tied into an existing catch basin. Additionally, an existing fuel pipeline restricted grading. Project coordination involved the Moreno Valley Parks & Recreation Department.
