Project Description

Orange County Water District – Water Quality Services

As one of the leading groundwater agencies in the United States, the Orange County Water District (OCWD) is responsible for maintaining the vast groundwater basin under northern and central Orange County that supplies water to more than 20 cities and serves more than 2.3 million residents. Fuscoe Engineering was hired by OCWD to assist with water quality design and permitting for several projects, including the Burris Basin Pump Station, Imperial Headgates Rehabilitation and North Basin Groundwater Protection projects. For each, Fuscoe designed appropriate LID infiltration BMPs and summarized those into an approvable Water Quality Management Plan, or utilized the regulatory criteria to validate alternative approaches, such as sub-regional basins. Fuscoe also worked closely with OCWD staff to evaluate long-term maintenance responsibilities and derive a plan for the continuing success of the proposed BMPs.
