Park Place Apartments

For Park Place III Apartments, Fuscoe provided BIM services that included modeling of all surfaces (existing, rough and precise grading), as well as all wet and dry utilities. The models were created to prevent utilities clashes in the field and to streamline coordination with the other project consultants. Since all Fuscoe plans are rendered in Civil 3D, the biggest project hurdles involved compatibility issues with the architect’s Collaborate for Revit software. The solution entailed establishment of a control point for all models and conversion of those models into the Revit format for uploading to Collaborate for Revit. Fuscoe provided full civil engineering services and construction staking for the Park Place Apartments project. Because of the project’s proximity to San Diego Creek as well as soil conditions with the potential for decomposition due to organic matter, more than 4,700 geopiers were drilled, providing the best solution to stabilize the buildings’ foundations. The project also required subdrain pipes under the foundations as insurance in the event of rising ground water.
