Theme Park Project
By appropriating twelve acres from an original parking lot, this company added a new area to an existing theme park. The new amusement area recreates a fictional town from an animated film and features dining and shopping venues as well as high tech attractions. One of the attractions is among the most expensive rides ever built at an estimated $200 million. It is a detailed dark ride that ends with an outdoor finale and includes tunnels, bridges, waterfalls and banked turns.
The Fuscoe Engineering Survey team was retained by Clark Construction to provide services for the new amusement park. Due to the nature of the park design within a very dense infill site, the project presented a number of unique construction staking challenges and required considerable coordination with various subcontractors and project stakeholders. The 12-acre site includes ten buildings of up to two stories each. Construction costs for the complete park addition is estimated to be $1.1 billion.
