Project Description

Burbank Water & Power EcoCampus

As the only plant in the world to operate on 100% recycled water and dubbed California’s first “100% Sustainable Utility EcoCampus”, the City of Burbank Water & Power’s new water facility opened to public acclaim as a model of conservation and energy efficiency. To make the EcoCampus a zero-discharge site, Fuscoe developed an environmental drainage master plan with a unique water filtration system, which captures local stormwater and then filters and recycles it throughout the city, maximizing usability of non-potable water within the municipality’s public spaces for irrigation and other uses. BWP views the drainage system enhancement as a demonstration project to lead and inspire others.
