Orange County Great Park – Irvine, CA

Great Park Ice & Five Point Arena

Irvine Ice Foundation

This public ice arena, which also serves as a training facility for the Anaheim Ducks, is the largest in California and one of the biggest in the U.S.

The project includes four ice rinks with seating for 2,500 spectators with concessions, locker rooms, shops, plus surface parking and landscaping on a 13.5-acre site. Fuscoe Engineering provided final civil engineering design and construction documents for this impressive facility. Although the site appears flat, in fact, it has a vertical difference of over twenty feet from end to end. With such a giant, flat building, this elevation difference presented site grading challenges that were successfully dealt with through creative solutions, while still maintaining an earthwork balance between cut and fill.
