Marriott Courtyard Anaheim Waterpark Hotel

Northwest Hotel Corporation

Located within walking distance to Disneyland, this $34M, family-friendly hotel features a 20,000 s.f. water park uniquely positioned atop its parking garage.

Surrounded by hotels on a former parking lot infill site, the Marriott Courtyard Anaheim Waterpark Hotel was designed by Lee & Sakahara Architects and offers 221 rooms in six stories over one level of underground parking. Mimi’s Café is also located on the 3.2-acre parcel, so constructing the hotel without interruption to restaurant operations was critical. The project’s engineering challenges included an infiltration trench within a utility laden public parkway, requiring extensive coordination between Anaheim Utilities, the Resort District and Anaheim Public Works to meet their strict BMP requirements. Also, there are two additional infiltration trenches at the project’s perimeter which allow stormwater to percolate into the aquifer. Street widening, straightening and median reconstruction on Manchester Avenue were also required for this project.
