SDG&E removed and replaced existing chain-link gates and fencing with high-security gates and fencing to enhance perimeter security at the Talega CAST Substation.

Site reconnaissance served to familiarize the team with existing conditions of the site and surrounding area. Fuscoe also explored the existing drainage conditions to identify possible terrain and environmental issues related to special drainage features, maintenance or geotechnical considerations. Partial civil plans were provided, incorporating owner base files and the proposed design, building upon previous work and preparing construction documents. The fence was retrofitted on an existing substation and multiple field conditions that were discovered during construction. Fuscoe acted quickly to resolve these previously unknown constraints through site visits and close coordination with the contractor to develop solutions that kept the project on schedule and in budget.
